The two-day festival was initially started in 2002 as Art & Craft on The Isle with the objective of giving local artists, crafters and hobbyists an opportunity to display and sell their works, and in doing so to help enhance the community spirit. This initial activity has been expanded to include a variety of other stalls, particularly on the gourmet food-drinks side.

The annual wooden boat show will take place in Thesen Harbour Town.
Knysna has a rich history of boat building. The surrounding forest provides the wood and the first ship to be built was launched 1831. It was a twin mast of 73 foot, named Knysna and was built by George Rex to trade between Knysna and Cape Town.
The 10 best Winterdays - The annual Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival is one of South Africa's most popular festivals with Premium Sport and Lifestyle Festivals and over 100 Events. The yearly festival has tanken place every year since 1983, where ist began as the Knysna Winter Festival. Every official event at the Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival raises money for charity. One of the requirements for events to be officially listed is that the event must benefit a local non profit organisation or charity.

Die Knysna Motor Show which is organised by the Garden Route Motor Club is a highlight for all Petrolheads, Oldtimerfriends and Car Enthusiastic. In 2015 more than 230 classic cars participated in this event and record funds were raised for charity. All profits generated by the event are donated to charity. Food and refreshments are available.
